Saloon inner weather strips for rear doors.

One problem that I have recently been told about, is corrosion found on the inside weather strips, adjacent to the vertical 1/4 window of the rear doors. It can be seen as bubbling in the rubber coating and is caused by corrosion in the aluminium reinforcing insert. Water must seep onto the aluminium which causes corrosion where the aluminium meets the steel door frame.

The problem is that they are no longer available for the saloon and when they were, they were over £40 each! However, I recently purchased a pair from Rimmers, for the LWB Limousine, which can be cut to length and re-sealed with some black silicone. If they still have stock, they are:-

Right Hand = part no. ELT000060 @ £9.49, incl. UK VAT.
Left Hand = " ELT000070 @ £4.74, " " " .
