[Roverite]

Members may be interested in what is going on in the English R40 'club' scene.

Firstly, if you go to www.75ztcommunity.co.uk and look at the General Forum, you will find a post by Trebor, relating to a Pathe News video, showing how the Rover P5 was built in 1958. Apart from being a classic bit of English industrial history, it gives younger members an idea of where the DNA of R40 (Rover 75 etc.), came from.

Secondly, if you look at the http://www.75-zt.com/ you will find some projects for the parts supply of our cars. I am involved in the testing of a new 'Longlife' stainless steel exhaust, which is designed to be as quiet as the original MGR mild steel version; actually, it was intended for the 75 to have a SS exhaust, but it was dropped after the first few cars came off the line. The other project is to get prices for rebuilt brake calipers and brake master cylinders, where stainless steel is used for the bores and pistons. This technique is already used on 'classic' cars and eliminates the problems of corrosion.

I will post on here again when we have further information.
